Cluster Configurations List

Overview

The Cluster Configuration Module is used to manage configuration profiles for clusters.

A cluster configuration contains predefined settings that can be applied to one or more clusters. These configurations allow administrators to prepare cluster-specific settings in advance, ensuring consistency, simplifying cluster deployment, and reducing manual configuration efforts.

Key Features

  • Unified Configuration Registry: View, search, and manage all defined cluster configuration profiles in a single, comprehensive tabular interface.
  • Hierarchical Parent-Child Configuration: Establish a configuration hierarchy where child configurations can inherit or override parameters from parent configurations.
  • Variable and Secret Management: Define key-value pairs (variables) with the option to mask sensitive values (secrets) for secure runtime deployments.
  • State Controls: Quickly enable or disable configurations instantly across all associated clusters using status toggles.
  • Streamlined Configuration Creation: Utilize a dedicated "Add Configuration" slide-out drawer to create and assign variables and hierarchy rules dynamically without navigating away from the list.

Access Requirements

To access this page, the user must have at least the GET permission for the Cluster Configurations module.

If you do not have the required permission, ask your administrator to grant it from one of the authorization pages below.

Authorization

Users without the required permission cannot view this page and will receive the following authorization error:

Prerequisites

Before managing Cluster Configurations, ensure that the following conditions are met:

  • You must have Administrator (Admin) or Configuration Manager privileges in the project space.
  • Any parent configurations you wish to inherit from must already be created and active.
  • Sensitive environment variables (e.g., database passwords, API keys) must be prepared beforehand if using the Is Secret flag.

Configurations List Screen

The main landing view presents an interactive data table containing all registered configurations in the system.

1. Tabular Columns

The table displays the following key attributes for each configuration:

Column Name Sorting Support Description
Name Yes The unique identifier of the configuration profile.
Description No A brief text detailing the purpose, scope, or target cluster environment for the configuration.
Create Date Yes The exact timestamp indicating when the configuration profile was created.
Update Date Yes The timestamp of the last modification made to the configuration's properties, parent relationships, or variables.
Status Yes Indicates whether the configuration is active (Active with green indicator) or inactive (Inactive).
Actions No Accessible via the three-dot ellipsis (...) menu at the end of each row, providing contextual actions like Edit, Clone, or Delete.

2. Controls & Navigation

The list page offers robust tools for navigating and searching through configuration records:

  • Search / Filter bar: Search configurations dynamically by Name or Description.
  • Advanced Filter Button: Filter records based on creation dates, specific statuses, or associated parent configurations.
  • View Toggles: Switch between table and grid views.
  • Add Configuration Button: Prominently located at the top right corner, this triggers the side panel to define a new configuration.
  • Pagination Controls: Bottom navigation bar displaying total records (e.g., "Total 8 records"), rows per page selector, and pagination controls to navigate through multiple pages.
