Project Sources

Overview

The Project Sources tab is used to manage the data source connectors assigned to a specific Project within the DataFloem platform.

While the global Source Module registers all available connections in the system, a Source must be explicitly assigned to a Project before it can be utilized in that Project's Jobs, Code Flows, or SQL Queries.

From this page, you can view which sources are currently available for the project, assign new sources, and remove (unassign) existing ones.

Access Requirements

To view or manage sources within a project, the user must have the appropriate permissions for the specific Project. Users can see their individual access level in the Access Status column for each assigned source.

Managing Project Sources

This page displays all Source connectors currently assigned to the selected Project.

From this page you can:

  • View all assigned Source connectors and their connection details.
  • Search and filter the assigned Source list.
  • Assign an existing global Source to the Project using the Assign Source button.
  • Remove (Unassign) a Source from the Project.
  • Check the Access Status (e.g., Granted) and active status of each Source.

Source Information

The table displays the following information for each assigned Source, with some fields grouped together for quick reference:

Column Description
Access Status Indicates the user's permission level for the source (e.g., Granted).
Name / Connection Type Displays the connection name (e.g., Source1) and its category (e.g., RDBMS, NoSQL, Cloud Database).
Database Name The name of the connected database or storage resource.
Database Type / Version The specific database engine and its version (e.g., My SQL mysql8, MongoDB mongodb7.x).
Update Date Date and time of the most recent update to the source assignment or configuration.
Status Indicates whether the Source connection is active or inactive.
Actions (...) A menu allowing you to perform actions such as Unassigning the source from the project.

Assigning a Source

To make a new data source available to the project:

  1. Click the Assign Source button located at the top right of the list.
  2. Select the desired source(s) from the globally registered Sources list.
  3. Confirm the assignment. The source will now appear in the project's Sources list.

Unassigning a Source

If a source is no longer needed in the project:

  1. Locate the source in the list.
  2. Click the three dots (...) on the right side of the row.
  3. Select Unassign.

Note: Unassigning a source only removes its association with the current project. It does not delete the actual source from the global Source Module.
