Assign Catalog

Overview

The Assign Catalog page allows users to assign pre-registered global data catalogs to the current Project scope.

While global catalogs are configured centrally in the platform's Catalogs Module, they must be explicitly assigned to a Project before they can be utilized as target data containers within that Project's Jobs, Code Flows, or SQL Queries.

This page displays all available global catalog configurations that are eligible to be linked to the current project scope.

Access Requirements

To access this page and assign catalogs to a project, the user must have write or management permissions for the target Project.

If you do not have the required permissions, ask your project administrator to grant access to project resource and catalog assignment.

Managing Assign Catalog Page

From this page you can:

  • View all globally available Catalogs that can be assigned to the project.
  • Search for specific catalogs using the search bar (Filter...).
  • Filter the catalog list and switch between list and grid views.
  • Assign a global catalog to the project using the + Assign button on the respective row.
  • Exit without making changes by clicking the Cancel button or the back arrow (←).

Catalog Information Table

The table displays the following fields for each available global Catalog:

Column Description
Name Displays the unique name and tag identifier of the global Catalog (e.g., Catalog1).
Description Contextual description outlining the purpose or scope of the catalog.
Default Warehouse The default target data warehouse assigned to execute queries and manage storage for this catalog.
Create Date Date and time when the catalog was created.
Update Date Timestamp indicating when the global catalog configuration was last modified.
Status Operational status of the global Catalog (e.g., Active).
Actions Clickable + Assign button to immediately link the selected catalog to the current Project.

Key Features & Actions

Assigning a Catalog

Clicking the + Assign button on any row immediately links that global Catalog to the current Project. Once assigned, the catalog will appear in the main Project Catalogs tab with a granted access status (Granted).

Filter & View Toggles

  • Search Bar (Filter...): Quickly search catalogs by name or description properties.
  • Filter Button: Apply advanced criteria to filter the available catalog list.
  • View Toggles: Switch between table/list view and card/grid view based on preference.

Cancel / Back Navigation

Clicking Cancel or the top-left back arrow (←) returns you to the Project Catalogs main page without taking further assignment actions.

Notes

  • Assigning a catalog links an existing global catalog configuration to the project; it does not create a new catalog instance.
  • Ensure that assigned catalogs have an operational Status of Active to prevent execution and query errors in project workflows.
  • Catalogs can be unassigned from the project at any time from the main Project Catalogs page.
