Project Targets

Overview

The Project Targets section is used to manage target data connectors assigned to a specific Project within the DataFloem platform.

While the global Target Module registers and configures target connections across the platform, those targets must first be assigned to a Project before they can be utilized by the Jobs, Code Flows, or SQL Queries within that specific Project.

When a new Project is created, its Target list is empty. Users with appropriate permissions can assign required pre-registered target connectors to the project scope or unassign existing ones as needed.

Access Requirements

To access and manage this page, the user must have the required management permissions for the specific Project and its associated Targets.

Users without the required permission cannot view this page and will receive an authorization error. Users with access can monitor their permission level via the Access Status column for each assigned target.

Managing Project Targets

This page displays all Target connectors currently assigned to the Project.

From this page you can:

  • View all assigned Target connectors and their project-level access status.
  • Search and filter the assigned Target list.
  • Assign existing global Target connectors to the project using the Assign Target button.
  • Remove (unassign) Target connectors from the project using the action menu (...).
  • Toggle between list and grid views for optimal layout visibility.

Target Information Table

The table displays the following information for each assigned Target connector:

Column Description
Access Status Indicates whether the project has been successfully granted access to use this target (e.g., Granted).
Name / Connection Type Displays the unique name of the Target connector, with its Connection Type (RDBMS, NoSQL, Cloud Database, Object Storage, etc.) displayed directly below it.
Database Name Name of the connected destination database or storage resource.
Database Type / Version The underlying target database engine (e.g., PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Snowflake) and its specific version tag displayed directly below it.
Update Date Date and time when the target assignment or configuration details were most recently updated.
Status Operational status of the Target connector (e.g., Active).
Actions (...) Action menu (...) allowing users to perform project-level actions such as Unassign.

Key Features & Actions

Assign Target

Clicking the Assign Target button opens the assignment interface where you can select and link pre-configured global Target connectors to the current project.

Unassigning a Target

Selecting Unassign from the action menu (...) removes the Target connection from the current project scope. This action does not delete the global Target configuration from the platform; it only revokes its availability for the current project.

Notes

  • Assigning a target to a project links an existing global target configuration to the project scope; it does not create a new connector instance.
  • Unassigning a target only removes it from the current Project's scope. It remains available in the global Target Module for other projects.
  • Ensure that assigned targets have an Access Status of Granted and an operational Status of Active to prevent execution errors in pipeline flows.
