Assign Target

Overview

The Assign Target page allows users to assign pre-registered global target connectors to the current Project scope.

While global targets are configured centrally in the platform's Target Module, they must be explicitly assigned to a Project before they can be utilized as output or destination connectors within that Project's Jobs, Code Flows, or SQL Queries.

This page displays all available global target connectors that are eligible to be linked to the current project scope.

Access Requirements

To access this page and assign targets to a project, the user must have write or management permissions for the target Project.

If you do not have the required permissions, ask your project administrator to grant access to project resource and target assignment.

Managing Assign Target Page

From this page you can:

  • View all globally available Target connectors that can be assigned to the project.
  • Search for specific target connectors using the search bar (Filter...).
  • Filter the target list and switch between list and grid views.
  • Assign a global target to the project using the + Assign button on the respective row.
  • Exit without making changes by clicking the Cancel button or the back arrow (←).

Target Information Table

The table displays the following fields for each available global Target:

Column Description
Name / Connection Type Displays the unique name of the global Target connector, with its Connection Type (RDBMS, NoSQL, Object Storage, Cloud Database, etc.) displayed directly below it.
Database Name Name of the connected database or storage resource (displays - if not applicable).
Database Type / Version The underlying database engine (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Object Storage) and its specific version tag displayed directly below it.
Update Date Date and time when the global target configuration was most recently updated.
Status Operational status of the global Target connector (e.g., Active).
Actions Clickable + Assign button to immediately link the selected target to the current Project.

Key Features & Actions

Assigning a Target

Clicking the + Assign button on any row immediately links that global Target to the current Project. Once assigned, the target will appear in the main Project Targets tab with a granted access status (Granted).

Filter & View Toggles

  • Search Bar (Filter...): Quickly search targets by name or connection properties.
  • Filter Button: Apply advanced criteria to filter the available target list.
  • View Toggles: Switch between table/list view and card/grid view based on preference.

Cancel / Back Navigation

Clicking Cancel or the top-left back arrow (←) returns you to the Project Targets main page without taking further assignment actions.

Notes

  • Assigning a target links an existing global connector configuration to the project; it does not create a new connector instance.
  • Ensure that assigned targets have an operational Status of Active to prevent execution and write errors in project workflows.
  • Targets can be unassigned from the project at any time from the main Project Targets page.
