Files

Files is the section where files developed in a Studio environment and saved to DataFloem within a Code Flow are displayed and managed.

Users can start a Studio Session associated with a Code Flow to access the Jupyter Notebook environment. Code or other content developed in this environment can be saved to DataFloem using the Save to DataFloem option.

Saved files are displayed in the Files section of the related Code Flow.

Files can be saved as Python (.py), text (.txt), and other supported file types.

How Are Files Created?

Files are not created directly from the Files page. A file is created in a Studio environment associated with the Code Flow and then saved to DataFloem.

The general process is as follows:

  1. The user opens the related Code Flow.
  2. The user starts a Studio Session under the Code Flow.
  3. The user accesses the Jupyter Notebook environment.
  4. The user develops code or other content in Jupyter Notebook.
  5. The user saves the work to DataFloem using the Save to DataFloem option.
  6. The saved file appears in the Files section of the related Code Flow.

This structure allows work developed in Jupyter Notebook to be stored in DataFloem and associated with the relevant Code Flow.

Files List

The Files page displays and manages files that have been saved to DataFloem within the selected Code Flow.

Files are displayed as cards. Each card contains basic information about the file and its current status.

Files can be searched and filtered from this page.

File Card

Each file is displayed in a separate card.

The following information is available on a file card:

Field Description
File Name Displays the file name and its extension, if available.
Create Date Displays the date and time when the file was saved to DataFloem.
Update Date Displays the date and time when the file was last updated.
Status Displays the current status of the file.

The file extension indicates the type of the saved file.

For example:

example.py

The .py extension indicates that the file is a Python file.

Similarly:

example.txt

The .txt extension indicates that the file is a text file.

File Status

The current status of each file is displayed in the lower-right section of the card.

A file with an Active status indicates that the file is currently active in the system.

The status information makes it possible to quickly identify the current state of files directly from the Files page.

The Filter... field in the upper-right section of the page can be used to quickly search through files.

When a value is entered into the search field, the displayed files are narrowed down to those matching the entered value.

This feature makes it easier to quickly find a specific file, especially in Code Flows containing a large number of files.

Advanced Filtering

The Filter button next to the quick search field can be used for more detailed filtering.

The advanced filtering interface allows filter conditions to be created based on file fields.

Multiple filter conditions can be used to display only files matching the specified criteria.

Active filters can be cleared when necessary to display all files again.

File Actions

A three-dot actions menu is available in the upper-right section of each file card.

This menu provides access to the operations that can be performed on the selected file.

Available actions may vary depending on the user's permissions and the current state of the file.

Date Information

The creation and update dates of the file are displayed in the lower section of the file card.

The first date indicates when the file was saved to DataFloem.

The second date indicates when the file was last modified.

This information makes it possible to track when a file was created and when it was last updated directly from the Files page.

Pagination

Pagination controls are available at the bottom of the Files page.

The total number of records is displayed in the lower-left section.

For example:

Total 5 records

The pagination controls in the center can be used to:

  • Go to the first page.
  • Go to the previous page.
  • Go to the next page.
  • Go to the last page.
  • View the current page and the total number of pages.

The Rows per page option in the lower-right section can be used to change the number of records displayed on each page.

What is a File?

A File represents work developed in the Jupyter Notebook environment and saved to DataFloem using the Save to DataFloem option.

Files are always associated with the related Code Flow.

After developing code or other content in Jupyter Notebook, users can save their work to DataFloem using one of the supported file types.

For example:

  • .py — Python file
  • .txt — Text file

The saved file can then be viewed and managed from the Files section of the related Code Flow.

Relationship Between Code Flow, Studio, and Files

A Code Flow is a workspace used to organize code-based data processing and development activities.

A Code Flow contains Studio Sessions and Files.

A Studio Session represents a working environment created by running a Studio configured in the system on a cluster. Through this session, users can access the Jupyter Notebook environment and develop their code.

When work developed in Jupyter Notebook is saved using Save to DataFloem, the resulting file is added to the Files section of the related Code Flow.

The basic process can be summarized as follows:

Code Flow → Studio Session → Jupyter Notebook → Code Development → Save to DataFloem → File

This structure keeps the development environment and files permanently stored in DataFloem associated with the same Code Flow.
