Start Session

The Start Session page is used to start a new Studio Session within a Code Flow.

Available Studios are displayed on this page. Users can select the Studio they want to work with and start a new session using the Start button.

When a session is started, the selected Studio runs on the cluster. The started session can then be monitored and opened from the Studio Sessions page.

Studio Selection

The Start Session page lists the Studios available for starting a session.

Basic information such as the Studio name, type, update date, and current status is displayed for each Studio.

Users can use this information to select the Studio they want to work with and use the Start button for the related Studio.

List View

In List View, Studios are displayed in a table.

The following information is displayed:

Column Description
Name Displays the name of the Studio.
Type Displays the working environment type of the Studio.
Update Date Displays the date and time when the Studio was last updated.
Status Displays the current status of the Studio.

The Start button on the right side of each record is used to start a new session with the related Studio.

Sorting

Supported columns in List View can be sorted.

The sorting control in the column header can be used to sort records in ascending or descending order.

The following columns support sorting:

  • Name
  • Type
  • Update Date
  • Status

The sorting icon in a column header indicates that the column can be sorted.

Card View

Studios can also be displayed as cards.

Each card contains basic information about the Studio:

Field Description
Studio Name Displays the name of the Studio.
Type Displays the working environment type of the Studio.
Update Date Displays the date and time when the Studio was last updated.
Status Displays the current status of the Studio.

The Start button on the card can be used to start a new session with the related Studio.

View Options

The Start Session page supports two different view types:

  • List View
  • Card View

The view buttons in the upper-right section of the page can be used to switch between the two views.

Changing the view only changes how Studios are displayed and does not affect the session starting process.

The Filter... field in the upper-right section of the page can be used to quickly search through Studios.

When a value is entered into the search field, the displayed records are narrowed down to Studios matching the entered value.

This feature makes it easier to find a specific Studio when many Studios are available.

Advanced Filtering

The Filter button next to the quick search field can be used for more detailed filtering.

Filter options can be used to display Studios that match specific criteria.

Multiple filter conditions can be used to narrow down the results further.

Active filters can be cleared when necessary to display all Studios again.

Studio Type

The Studio type indicates the working environment that will be available when a session is started.

For example, the following Studio types may be displayed:

  • Lab
  • VS Code

Users can select a Studio that provides the working environment they need and start a session.

Studio Status

The current status of each Studio is displayed on the page.

A Studio with an Active status indicates that it is available for starting a session.

Status information is available in both List View and Card View.

Starting a Session

To create a new session with a Studio, use the Start button for the related Studio.

When the Start button is clicked, a new Studio Session is started using the selected Studio.

Once the Studio starts running on the cluster, the created session is displayed on the Studio Sessions page.

The basic process can be summarized as follows:

Start Session → Select Studio → Start → Studio Session

When the started session is ready, users can access the working environment using the Open option on the Studio Sessions page.

Cancel

The Cancel button in the upper-right section of the page can be used to leave the Start Session page without starting a new session.

The back button in the upper-left section can also be used to return to the previous page.

Pagination

Pagination controls are available at the bottom of the Start Session page.

The total number of Studios is displayed in the lower-left section.

For example:

Total 2 records

The pagination controls in the center can be used to:

  • Go to the first page.
  • Go to the previous page.
  • Go to the next page.
  • Go to the last page.
  • View the current page and the total number of pages.

The Rows per page option in the lower-right section can be used to change the number of Studios displayed on each page.
